In Moscow, Big Brother is NOT watching you

TENS OF THOUSANDS OF CCTV CAMERAS IN RUSSIA’S CAPITAL FED FAKE FOOTAGE TO THE POLICE

After an investigation lasting several months, Moscow police have uncovered a massive security fraud. The company StroyMontageServices was paid to instal CCTV cameras throughout the city and then feed live images from them to the Police.

What was actually appearing on police screens, however, was to a large extent pre-recorded, not live, even though the company had charged around $1m for its service. Its boss, Dmitry Kudrayavtsev, has been arrested.

“Video footage was coming even from buildings that no longer existed. Anything could have been happening at the time.” – Police spokesman Pyotr Rebinin

Police spokesman Pyotr Rebinin told Russia Today that they found 29,000 non-functioning CCTV cameras in one district alone.
