Vote with your feet to end bad customer service
Hats off to Which? magazine, which is launching a new campaign to encourage customers to give the heave-ho to companies that offer bad customer service. They will run the campaign throughout 2010 and will apparently be offering help and advice to consumers who are keen to switch services, apparently suggesting they move to companies who score highly in Which? customer satisfaction surveys.
Which? editor Martyn Hocking says:
“Don’t let them get away with it…hit poor suppliers where it hurts – in their wallet. Consumers can’t be ignored.”
As he points out, “If, in 2010, we all ditch 2-3 providers who have scored badly in Which? satisfaction surveys and sign up with ones that have scored well, the poor performers will have to take notice.”
They point out that some of the country’s biggest energy suppliers score very badly, with Npower getting just 28% in their last survey, the lowest of all the energy suppliers and even lower than the big high street banks. The same is true of broadband suppliers, with giants like AOL and Orange getting just 31% and 32% in the most recent customer satisfaction survey.
On the other hand O2 scored 85%, while Zen internet, Utility Warehouse and Be also did well.
